Laker Game
The Laker game on Friday night was lots of fun, even though the Detroit Pistons absolutely embarrassed the Lakers. Scott and I were about 15 rows from the floor, almost directly behind the basket closest to the Laker bench. I took lots of pictures and only a few of them turned out really good.
In the process of going to the game, I missed out on Dr. Simons' Communication Department party. I'm really bummed that I had to miss that, but I couldn't pass up $95 dollar seats for free. So far, in four Laker games that I've been to, they've lost every single one of them!! If anyone has any tickets for free, I need to reverse that trend as soon as possible!
Well anyway, today is Sunday, and I enjoyed a great day in the Lord's house and even finally worked out today! Tomorrow (technically it's today, but anytime you sleep and wake up in the morning, it's tomorrow) I have my RA interview with all the RDs and the Dean, Joe Keller. I'm kind of feeling a little intimidated right now, not knowing exactly what to expect, but knowing that I'm going to be grilled. I'm praying for honesty and openness and for the Lord to give me His perfect peace.
OK, gotta finish up homework and get some sleep before another very busy week!

Great seats! Horrible game
Scotty and I had unbelievable seats tonight at the Lakers game in Staples Center. Scott won them back in the fall and we finally got to use them. We were probably like 15 rows from the court almost directly behind one of the baskets. It was incredible!! We were so close to the floor!
The bad part, though, was that the Lakers got humiliated by the Detroit Pistons. Just a lackluster performance, and it almost ruined the whole point of being there. But it was fun!
OK, off to bed cuz I gotta get up early and go to work! Woohoo! Another Saturday filled with opportunity to make more money!

Why am I awake?
It's currently 2:11 a.m., Friday the 25th of February of 2005. And I'm wasting time taking pictures of my out-like-a-light roommate.
Actually, I'm doing homework. Reading over essays for my Dr. Simons' classes and critiquing them. There's really no excuse for being up this late except for the fact that all the trades in the NBA today really messed with my fantasy basketball league. So, of course, I had to check into all the latest developments, and read all the newest posts on the post board.
Does anyone know how to add sidebars to this blog? I look at other people's blogs and they have crazily modified blogs with pictures and words all over the page, not just in orderly lines like the template is.
I'm going to the Lakers-Pistons game tomorrow night with Scott, so I will definitely update that on Saturday.
I've decided that I am going to post everyday. I know what you're thinking. "Yeah right, Happy. You'll never do it!" And you would be right to say that. Still, I'm gonna give it the old college try and see what happens. Maybe it will make this blog more spontaneous and original.
OK, well, it's time to finish up and go to bed. Catch ya later.

A Saturday in the mud...redux
It's 2:30ish, and I recently returned from a morning full of mud, again. This morning, Jared Dennis and I filled in substantial portions of the ditches at SCBC with the dirt lying around it. Mr. Cormier bought us "rain gear." Basically, it was yellow overalls and a jacket designed to make the wearer feel like a life-size banana. Apparently, I didn't tighten the straps enough and they kept falling off my shoulders like a 3-year old girl's dress straps. I kept having to put both arms up in the air and then dance around trying to get the straps up over my shoulders. Finally, I just crossed the straps over my head.
Luckily, Mr. Cormier let us off early so now I'm back in the dorms (obviously) and preparing to take a short nap and then work the basketball games tonight. If you wanna watch/listen to my melodious voice go to http://www.masters.edu/Athletics/SportHome.asp and go to the webcast link.
This past week was pretty crazy, especially at the very beginning. Monday, to all you who didn't know, was Valentine's Day. I barely got any sleep the night before, so I was tired all day. Monday afternoon, Amy and I drove up to Ventura. We ate at Hungry Hunter, which was really really good! We walked on the pier for a long time and then came back to do more homework. Rest of the week was better, and I got more sleep! Ok, I'm out...

Busy Saturday
Today went by fast. Went to work at 8:30 am and basically dug holes in the mud and fixed broken sprinkler heads and pipes till about 3:00 pm. Then I rushed back to the dorms where I showered quickly and then drove all the way down to Costa Mesa to see the women's basketball game.
It was in all probability the most important game in the history of the program. We're no. 3 in the nation, Vanguard is no. 1. Long story short, we lost in the waning moments on a clutch shot by their baller of a point guard. They just seem to have our number this year, beating us twice by a combined score of. . . 3. 3 whole points!! Oh well.
Amy and I headed home with a quick stop at the beach. The mens' game that we didn't hang around for went into OT, but the guys ended up barely winning. Anyway, I have to write two papers tomorrow, one due Monday and the other on Tuesday. Oughta be fun. Till later,
Happy

Homecoming
Homecoming for SCCS is always fun and tonight was no exception. Both teams won, and the crowd was really loud for the guys' game. It was a good game and I had some fun with my camera too. Check out the pics.

Quickly
Does anyone know how to include pictures, or of any other cool ways to make my blog more interesting? If so, leave a comment!

Could anyone be any worse at updating a blog? Right, I didn't think so. Anyway, life has been EXTREMELY busy since I last posted, with tough classes, mucho homework, working more than I have previously in college, and what else...oh yeah, spending time with my awesome girlfriend (not that I mind that one bit!).
Right now I'm actually skipping class so that I could get some rest this morning. Nine hours of sleep is more than I've had since I don't know when. I feel a lot better, and hopefully my cold will go away. I'm keeping my room way cleaner this semester after learning a thing or two about organization and discipline over at IBEX. My desk is kinda messy, but I still know basically where everything is.
I finally finished Dan Brown's Deception Point, which was OK; nothing to write home about...unless you're blogging I guess. I'm hopefully gonna start Jedi Trial today, if I have time that is. I have so many books to read, and not enough time to read them!
OK, what else should I blog about...hmmm. The Master's men's basketball team is really tanking it right now, having lost 5 or their last 7 games. However, the women's team is currently 3rd in the nation and has a huge showdown Saturday night in Costa Mesa vs. Vanguard! I'm definitely going. But I need to get a lot of stuff done this weekend, so off I go to the library. Hasta la vista.
