Life After Israel

1.06.2005

So two days off in a row is kinda stinky. I've only worked 18 hours this week, and tomorrow is Friday. Apparently, I can't work 7 straight days for some reason...so here I sit, at home. The upside is I'm getting a lot of reading done, and soon I've gotta go to my former (thankfully former) place of employment, that bastion of low prices: Big Lots! My mom needs me to get a surge protector, so I think I'll walk down and get some much needed exercise.

So far, reading through the Bible is going very good. It's fun to read about places that I can say I've been to. It helps me to understand the setting in Scripture so much clearer now, because I have an actual recollection in my mind. It's about an average of 4 chapters a day; right now 3 from Genesis and 1 from Romans. It's a very good blend of Old and New Testament because the first few chapters of Romans deal a lot with Abraham and his faith, which is exactly the subject I'm reading about in Genesis!

To amend what I said earlier, technically I am working tonight at The Master's College games vs. Biola. I'm excited to be doing the shot clock, even though it will be a big challenge, having to perform under significant pressure. My friend Caleb, who I played basketball with in high school, is on Biola's team, and I hope he gets to see some playing time, but I doubt he will. I'll be working Saturday to setup the church, and then at night for two more basketball games at Master's.

I still don't know where I will be living on Lower Front in Hotchkiss, but at least I'm in the hallowed halls and not in some loser dorm like Slight or C-dub. I have no idea who my roommate will be, so that will be another interesting thing to find out two weeks from today.

OK, that was a long post (for me). I gotta go.

Out.
