Laziness and Anger
So the lessons of today were pretty obvious for me.
First, the chapel speaker (forget his name) scored a direct hit with his message this morning. It was basically a full-fledged salvo of God's Word directed right at me specifically. He used Proverbs 6, which talks about the sluggard learning from the industrious ant. I've been devolving this semester, as far as work ethic goes. Sometimes going underwater for awhile seems better than struggling to tread the water. Just for the sake of the analogy (this is pretty bad) I think that if I just get my stuff done ahead of time, or at least before midnight, that I wouldn't have to tread because I'd be back in the shallow end.
Then tonight I almost lost my temper during our first intramural basketball game. We lost, and we shouldn't have. And I got too frustrated with the refereeing and with my teammates and myself. I actually kind of ripped the neckline of one of my favorite shirts so that was pretty ridiculous. I need to keep the priority of being a mature Christian with the singular purpose of glorifying God in mind. Please call me on this if you see it.
Well, a little Bible reading and some pleasure reading and I'm asleep. See ya later all ("all" meaning very few)
