Go North, Young Man
So I'm in Caldwell, Idaho. I've been here since Saturday afternoon. Eighteen hours. That's how long our road trip from Santa Clarita, California to here took. That was a terrible sentence, but since it's 1:17 am, I'm not going to change it. We couldn't take the normal route (14 N to 395 N, 6 N or E, 95 N, etc.) because of snow. So we took the 15 through Las Vegas and then all the way up the 95. When we got here, Mr. Baughman (oh yeah, there's four of us: me, Brian Baughman, Nick Foy, Travis Dalton) told us that we could have taken the 93 and cut out at least an hour. Oops.
So what have we done? Well, I just lost at Texas Hold 'Em, most likely because I have no idea what I'm doing and therefore have no strategy. I also lost last night. But last night I stuck around until it was just me and Brian. The two times I've played have been the third and fourth times I've ever played, respectively.
We've slept a lot. I've slept on the foldout couch/bed in the living room both nights and plan on being there in another twenty minutes or so. Tomorrow, I don't know what we'll do. On Sunday, we went to church. I think the Baughmans' church is First Baptist Church of Caldwell. It was a very encouraging time of worship and preaching, followed by a grand Baptist potluck/birthday party for the pastor and his wife. Tonight, we watched Flightplan. It was pretty good. I'll give it a 7.5 out of ten.
Is this the most random and stream-of-consciousness post in the illustrious history of this blog?
Today was a lot of fun. I got to spend time with a friend that I hadn't seen in a while, Sally Glaze. Sally and I were freshman together at TMC. I got to eat dinner with her and then go back to her apartment and try to play with her almost-two-year-old daughter Jayden. It was a very encouraging, informative, and fun time of reminiscing.
Wednesday morning we leave for the Bay Area. Hopefully on Thursday we'll go to Alcatraz. OK, I'm done. Goodbye.
Oh, wait. Amy has wedding dresses. That's right. Two. Ask her.
Peace.

You are rating churches now?...not terribly sure how i feel about that. And come on man! you have to win at Texas Hold 'em! Our roots are in Texas! (...right? We are of a text stock right? Maybe it was Irish...).
