keeps going and going and going....
The rain, that is; it hasn't stopped for at least 50 hours. That's a lot for Santa Clarita, just in case you were wondering. My dad informed me that we've received more rain in the last month than we usually receive in an entire YEAR. Yeah, so driving has been a lot of fun and the city has actually declared a state of emergency (I thought only the President could do something like that; so much for Executive power) and there are houses being swept away and stuff.
Saturday was interesting day. I had only 3 other guys to work with and one had to leave half way through church setup. Then, after 6 hours (with about 45 minutes for lunch), I had a little over an hour to rest up before heading over to The Master's College to do the shot clock for the women's and mens' games. The women's game was very entertaining, but the ladies lost to Vanguard University (#2 in the nation; we're #7). Their coach was an absolute jerk though. Cussing and whining and complaining the whole game. Great testimony. Then the guys game was ridiculous. They shoulda killed 'em, but instead played such a boring game that they had me yawning like every 2 minutes.
And today was my first day singing in church choir. It's been since May, I think. I did alright, but I was struggling! Besides the small fact that I can't read music at all...actually, I guess that's the main thing. Well, at least I didn't blow it so that everyone could hear. OK, well time to hit up evening church; new series on spiritual gifts.
